& what I do
My interest in photography began a few years back in the days of analog slide film. It's fascinating how digital technology revolutionized photography in just a couple of years.
From early on in my childhood I was fascinated by the beauty of the wilderness. Growing up in South Africa I was constantly traveling across the continent. However, it was not until I relocated from South Africa to Germany that I seriously considered documenting my experiences in the wild.
I studied biology specializing in animal behavior. Since then I had been exploring and combining my passion for photography and wildlife. I have been on various photo expeditions in Africa, Europe, N.America, Asia & Middle East. Some of my work were well received and published in numerous magazines.
For sure by now you guessed that the lil' dude in that picture is not me, but my son, he is just so much cuter - busy with daddies big lens. As a family man now, my photography takes on a broader perspective.
